Vulnerability Assessment Grant
Campus Consortium in proud to offer the opportunity for accredited higher education institutions to apply for the Vulnerability Assessment Grant. This grant covers $30,000 in network audits and vulnerability assessments over a three year period, with a minimum of two assessments taking place per year.
What is a Vulnerability Assessment? A vulnerability assessment is a way to walkthrough and test your IT infrastructure to find any gaps that hackers might be able to take advantage of, before they get the chance to do so. The necessity of regular assessments has never been more obvious with the flux of high profile security breaches in the news - Target®, Anthem®, the United States Government, just to name a few.
How Does A Vulnerability Assessment Work?
First, the team defines and classifies the network resources, and begins to assign levels of importance to each resource. Secondly, testing begins and the team identifies potential threats to each resource. To counter these potential threats, the team works to develop a strategy for each which includes how to minimize the impact if an attack were to occur.
