CAMPUS SAFETY APP OVERVIEW

The Campus Safety App was created to provide students an emergency app that has the ability to send an alert via App notification, SMS and Email about their location, request for immediate help and a lot more. Students can further customize this app to send an alert to their parents, guardians, or friends and call the campus police in the event of an incident.

GRANT COVERAGE

  • The grant covers a total of $22,495 over five years in licensing and implementation.

BENEFITS OF THE CAMPUS SAFETY APP

Think about your target end user - your students. In case of an emergency, when a student double taps the app, their emergency contacts will receive the same alert as the campus police. The Campus Safety App platform provides your students a one stop shop access to the following:

  • Profile: Students can set up their contact details along with their blood groups so that in case of emergency the correct information reaches the right person.
  • Alert Contacts: One can set up alert to their entire list where messages can be sent along with the current location so that help can reach without any confusion.
  • Alert Preferences: The app enables one to set emergency preferences that include sending medical information and also facilitates setting up intervals where the user wants himself/herself to be tracked.
  • Share Location: The app allows its user to send out accurate location details which also provides Rapid Call to Action.
  • ack Me Feature: The app is enabled for user to initiate tracking at their own convenience and allows emergency contact to view and track locations in real time.

QUALIFICATION CRITERIA

  1. Applicant must be an education institution or public sector organization.
  2. Applicant demonstrates a commitment to implementing the solution (e.g. letter from president highlighting the problem that the solution solves and why the grant would be helpful in meeting strategic objectives).

HOW TO APPLY

  1. Download and fill the grant application form.
  2. Submit grant applications to grantapplication@campusconsortium.org on or before September 25, 2017 (5:00 pm ET).

GRANT PROCESS

  1. Apply for the Grant by September 25, 2017
  2. Review of Application by Grant Review Committee by October 2, 2017
  3. Grant Award Letter issued to Grant Recipients by October 9, 2017
  4. Grant Award Walkthrough by October 16, 2017
  5. Execution of Grant Award Agreement by October 23, 2017
  6. Project Kick-Off by October 30, 2017
