The Campus Consortium is proud to announce the launch of the BlueLight Emergency App Grant. This grant will waive the license and implementation cost for an institution to set up the BlueLight Emergency App for their campus.

Safety First
The majority of US colleges and universities offer blue light emergency phones, spaced strategically across campus. With the touch of a button, anyone on campus can alert campus police to a threat or incident. With universal adoption of smartphones, it's empirical that this safety feature be translated to the smartphones so with the tap of a button students can alert police, medical services, friends and family of an emergency.

How It Works
A student walking along campus late at night sees two figures fighting on the quad. He immediately pulls out his smartphone, and taps the "ALERT" button twice on the lock screen. The campus police and the student's friends and family are all alerted to his location and that there is an emergency.

As simple as that, the authorities are able to respond faster than if our student had to find a campus blue light emergency phone, or if he even had to unlock his phone to dial the police or find the campus police phone number.

Consider a scenario where a student needs to alert authorities without making it obvious he or she is doing so. Discreetly tapping a button on a home-screen twice is much simpler than dialing a number.

Our Campus Consortium Grant Committee will review all applications submitted by the designated deadline. Should your institution be selected to receive the BlueLight Emergency Grant, the point of contact listed on the form will be notified. Next steps will include scheduling the consulting sessions at the convenience of our consultants.
